Island hopping
The Hebrides are difficult to quantify. Quite aside from the ever changing scenery the islands have an atmosphere that is at once both immediately Scottish and completely at odds with anywhere else in the country. It is a place rich in history; ancient, recent, discarded, it is strewn around the landscape and impossible to ignore. read more…
Wet and windy on Lewis
What can I say? In all honesty I’ve probably spent more time driving and drinking coffee in various tourist spots around Lewis than I have taking pictures. It’s not for the want of trying though. Next beginner course date announced
Last week’s Beginner DSLR Photography course was a roaring success, so we’re doing it all again next month! The students all had a great day and the feedback afterwards was very positive, so I have booked the House for an Art Lover for a second session on the 7th May. read more…

Celtic Connections – opening night!
It turns out that the Christmas and New Year party season is really just a warm-up for the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow…. Starting tonight and continuing relentlessly till the end of the month over 1500 musicians from around the world will take to the stage at 14 venues around Glasgow. A first Christmas
Well folks, that’s just about that: Christmas has been and (fuzzy head and expanded waist aside) gone again for another year. Families that gathered together for the day are now dispersing back to their individual homes around the country, ready to return to work and the more prosaic lives that they lead the rest of the year. read more…
