The Hebrides are difficult to quantify. Quite aside from the ever changing scenery the islands have an atmosphere that is at once both immediately Scottish and completely at odds with anywhere else in the country. It turns out that the Christmas and New Year party season is really just a warm-up for the Celtic Connections Festival in Glasgow…. Starting tonight and continuing relentlessly till the end of the month over 1500 musicians from around the world will take to the stage at 14 venues around Glasgow. There will be music and dancin’, and probably a few headaches along the way. read more…
